Frida Kahlo

She is a minty aqua creally with pink, green, and gold iridescent flakes that shift aqua, lavender, and amber

Frida Kahlo was promising student headed for medical school until a traffic accident at age eighteen, that killed several people and fractured Kahlo’s ribs, displaced three vertebrae broke her legs and her collarbone. An iron handrail impaled her through her pelvis, fracturing the pelvic bone. This caused her lifelong pain and medical problems. The illness forced her to be isolated, and made her reclusive. One of her friends Andrés Henestrosa stated that Kahlo “lived dying” Eventually, She began a relationship with Rivera, who was 20 years her senior, and had two common-law wives. Regardless, her father approved of Rivera, who was wealthy and therefore able to support Kahlo, who could not work and had to receive expensive medical treatment undergoing an appendectomy, two abortions, and the amputations of her toes, and countless other operations, during her marriage. While that both had extramarital affairs (both with women) it was his affair with her baby sister that hurt her most. Through her pain she paints, throughout her life it was her outlet, but was not given recognition for it, while husband was for his works. Finally in 1954 she finally had her first show, and it opened to great reviews!! By that point her pain was unbearable, and simply breathing was excruciating. One week after her first and only show, Frida Kahlo Died. The official cause of death for her was pulmonary embolism, although no autopsy was performed. Kahlo, in fact, committed suicide. The nurse, who counted Kahlo’s painkillers, stated that Kahlo had taken an overdose the night. She had also given her husband an anniversary present that evening, over a month in advance. She was 47 years old.
Frida Kahlo is a Woman Done Wrong, and we honor and thank you!

Jackie Mitchell

She’s a boys club blue with a strong purple shimmer that shifts aqua, and iridescent flakes in lavender and pink that shift green, gold, amber, and turquoise.

Jackie Mitchell was one of the first female pitchers in professional baseball history. Pitching for the Chattanooga Lookouts Class AA minor league baseball team! During the exhibition game against the New York Yankees, she struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in succession when she was 17, baseball commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis voided her contract declaring women unfit to play baseball as the game was “too strenuous. Guess they were upset a woman could strike out their best players back to back. She tried to continue playing but eventually retired in 1937 at the age of 23 furious at being used as a side show attraction being asked to pitch while riding a donkey. The end of a promising career all because she was a woman!! Jackie Mitchell is a Woman Done Wrong, we honor and thank you!

Queen Liliuokalani

All her photos are this great golden brown color so that’s the base! She has pink, blue, and amber flakes that shift green, aqua, purple, and gold

A bit of her history below… Queen Liliʻuokalani, the last queen of Hawaii. She fought the questionable annexation of the Hawaiian islands by the US as long as she could, even filing a lawsuit towards the end. She was arrested, but still kept up her grace. Eventually, she was forced to sign treaties, but made it clear she only did this to protect her people from fighting to the last.
She was also a talented musician and the composer of “Aloha Oe”

USWNT

She is has a silver glitter bomb base with red and blue accent glitter finally gold holographic shards because that’s what these ladies know best!

USWNT represents the United States in international women’s soccer. The team is the most successful in international women’s soccer history, winning four Women’s World Cup titles, four Olympic gold medals, and eight CONCACAF Gold Cups. All that success yet these women make almost 40% less than their male counterparts. What’s the men’s record you may wonder? Well I’m not trying to bash them, but let’s just say they’re not successful, at all.🤨 Luckily their story is not over! They are currently in litigation to get paid equally to their male counterparts paving the way for the future of women sports!

These are Women Done Wrong, we honor and thank you!

Ida B Wells

She is a orange to purple she also shifts green and aqua. Finally she has iridescent flakes in pink and green. They shift lavender, aqua, turquoise, gold and amber

Ida B. Wells was born into slavery and freed by the emancipation proclamation she was an investigative journalist, with her own paper until the KKK destroyed her newspaper office and presses for telling the horrors of lynching complete with names. She was an educator, dismissed from her teaching post by the Memphis Board of Education due to her articles that criticized conditions in the black schools of the region. She was one of the founders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).[1] but was originally excluded from the list of founders in her autobiography, Wells stated that Du Bois deliberately excluded her from the list. Du Bois felt women had no place in activism. Wells arguably became the most famous black woman in America, during a life that was centered on combating prejudice and violence, who fought for equality for African Americans, especially women. Despite men telling her to stay home and have babies!

At the age of 24, she wrote, “I will not begin at this late day by doing what my soul abhors; sugaring men, weak deceitful creatures, with flattery to retain them as escorts or to gratify a revenge.”

IDA B WELLS Bass Ass & Woman Done Wrong! We honor and thank you!

Rosalind Franklin

I wanted to create a gold polish for the Nobel prize she never got; but you know me! I had to get all sparkle pimp on it! She has a gold random cut metal base with iridescent flakes in pink that shift green, lavender, and aqua. Finally finish with holographic flakes. You know I’m addicted to those right.

Rosalind Franklin Franklin is best known for her work on the X-ray diffraction images of DNA, particularly Photo 51, while at King’s College London, which led to the discovery of the DNA double helix for which James Watson, Francis Crickand Maurice Wilkins shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1962. Watson suggested that Franklin would have ideally been awarded a Nobel Prize in Chemistry, along with Wilkins, but, although there was not yet a rule against posthumous awards, the Nobel Committee generally does not make posthumous nominations
After finishing her work on DNA, Franklin led pioneering work at Birkbeck on the molecular structures of viruses. Her team member Aaron Klug continued her research, winning the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. While all the men around her continued to win Nobel Prizes on her work it’s important to note she never received any for her pioneering works simply because she was born with a vagina!

Malala Yousafzai

She wears a lot of pink and purple so I made a combination of those colors. I would call this a heavy shifting iridescent? She’s not quite a multi chrome but not a simple iridescent either so I’m compromising with heavy iridescent. So she is a purpley pink she has little shifts green, gold, and aqua. She also has iridescent flakes in purple, green, and pink flakes that also shift aqua, gold, amber, and blue.

Malala Yousafzai – also known mononymouslyas Malala, is a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prizelaureate. She is known for human rights advocacy, especially the education of women and children in her native Swat Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwest Pakistan, where the local Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school. Her advocacy has grown into an international movement at age 15 she was shot in the head by the Taliban She survived the attack but continues to live under taliban threats.
